Pretty Lass

Pretty Lass 4.3″ x 4.3″  Oil on Ceramic Tile  with lucite stand Pretty Lass was five weeks old when we met her. She was the first Wild Pony foal that I had ever seen and we have been following her progress ever since. She is now five years old and we think she may foal in the next year or so.

$105 Silent Egret 8″ x 8″  Oil on Ceramic Tile with lucite stand The Egret is quite a character. It will stand completely still for a long time waiting for a meal, that makes it an artist’s favorite for studies.

$50 Buoy at Low Tide 4.3″ x 4.3″  Oil on Ceramic Tile with lucite stand Buoy’s have always intrigued me. When I find them on the shore during low tide, they make a good still life.

$50 Red Wing Black Bird 4.3″ x 4.3″  Oil on Ceramic Tile with lucite stand The Red Wing Black Bird is one of my favorites. I experience them often when I am golfing. They are very territorial and will defend their nests vigorously against any intruder.

$50 Loon 4.3″ x 4.3″  Oil on Ceramic Tile with lucite stand The Loon has great markings and is a very popular bird with visitors to the Mountains of New Hampshire.

$50 Fluffernutter 4.3″ x 4.3″  Oil on Ceramic Tile with lucite stand Fluffernutter is a brand new foal at Assateague Island in Eastern Maryland. There are approximately six new foals appearing at Assateague Island each Spring.

$50 Snow Flurries 4.3″ x 4.3″  Oil on Ceramic Tile with lucite stand The Cardinal during a snow is quite calming. I also did the female during the snow fall.

$105  Moored in Jamestown 8″ x 8″  Oil on Ceramic Tile with lucite stand Moored in Jamestown is a small skiff that is moored to a large white buoy. These skiffs are used by local fisherman to reach their larger ocean going vessels.

SOLD Grapes (Antique Wood Type)

SOLD Grapes (Antique Wood Type) 15″ x 12″  Antique Wood Type Collage Framed  375 Grapes contains a small oil painting, corks and wood type that contains words (that appear backwards). Each character represents a family of type designed for printing. This method of type began around 1800 and continued in small print shops until the late 19th century. It is carved from maple and attached to a wood base. The layout is then inked and placed in a press to produce a finished printed copy.

Martha’s Vineyard-wood type collage

Martha’s Vineyard-wood type collage 30″ x 39″  wood type and small paintings Framed 2850 This collage of wood type, engravings and small paintings, represents Martha’s Vineyard to me. It is rustic, representative to the Island and the type characters when polished are a beautiful representation to early America, printing and design. The wood type characters and engravings date back to the 1800’s and was obtained in North Eastern Pennsylvania.
